Lambert

Lambert has been adopted and is scheduled to have surgery April 25 to help with his back legs.
3/18/13: Lambert is up for adoption now. His general diagnosis is "congenital malformation of stifles bilaterally." In other words he has terrible instability in both "knees" as well as luxating patellas which means those knees can pop in and out pretty freely. Right now he is very mobile and will probably will be for most of his life, but he is a candidate for arthritis to set in with his current condition. He can run but can't go up more than 1-2 stairs however. He is not in pain, but corrective surgery is recommended down the road. At this point, I have 1 set of radiographs that could be shared with anyone interested to get an opinion from their own vet.

He was born 11-29-12. There will be a $100 deposit required for his neuter, in addition to the adoption fee of $200. He is current on shots; on heart worm prevent and flea/tick.
Does well with other dogs, but can be a pest - typical puppy.

This lil' poopster came to Corgi Connection from a breeder in SE Missiouri; a sister to the same breeder we got Emmy. Well, first of all, they didn't tell he was only 8 weeks old and secondly they said he had some leg issues. Imgaine my surprise when an 8-week old puppy shows and even more so in his condition. This lil guy could barely walk. So he came to the DeMars Crippled Corgi Convalescent Center. Surprisingly enough he all ready seems to have made some progress but there's definitely something wrong with Lambert. So...off to Kansas State University we'll go.

Here's what little I know about Lambert's condtion: His general diagnosis is "congenital malformation of stifles bilaterally." In other words he has terrible instability in both "knees" as well as luxating patellas which means those knees can pop in and out pretty freely. Surgery is not recommended at this point due to his age but it is likely he will need surgery. Without it, difficulties in mobility would be expected as he matures. He is to return in 6-8 weeks for a follow up. Not sure what I'm going to do about adoption...
