Ollie

THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST. OLLIE HAS BEEN ADOPTED.

Oliver, Ollie, Silly. Whatever you call him, this sweet boy will answer. Ollie is a perfect example of what can happen when a dog is given or sold via the internet. When Ollie left his original owners, he was a healthy 27 pounds, current on vaccinations, flea/tick and heart-worm prevent and knew basic commands. When he finally came to CCK about 3 months later, he had lost 5 pounds, had a yeast infection in his ears; had coccidia and whipworms and was starved for attention. He's one of the lucky ones.

Ollie is just over 2 years old and classified as an "All-American Corgi," which means he is likely a mix of Pembroke and Cardigan with different colored eyes. He is a bit of an anxious boy and prefers to be near a person most all times but he does play well with other dogs. He plays with toys, loves to go for walks and will keep you on his feeding schedule. He kennels at night without a peep. His favorite place to lay is in your lap. He knows how to use a doggy door.,

He does have a bit of a defensive streak in him. He will bark at some people who come to the house and if he's uncomfortable with what's happening to him, like looking in his mouth, he will nip, snap. He would do well with another energetic, easy-going dog to keep him company and spend some of his energy. He needs to build confidence and get a feeling of security. His world has been turned upside down and he's still not sure how to react. Because of this we will NOT allow Ollie to join a home with children under the age of 12.

Ollie was recently neutered, has been brought up to date on vaccinations, is microchipped and current on flea/tick and heartworm preventative. Ollie is NOT reliably house-trained. He still wants to occasionally mark things. He has improved and I expect more improvement since his neuter. He should be monitored closely while inside or have a belly band on him to prevent this.

The adoption fee for Ollie is $300. If you feel you can provide him a permanent, stable and loving home, please submit an application through this link
