Bear
Bear is a 2-1/2 year old VERY energetic boy who came to us from a woman that was breeding him until her landlord told her no more dogs.
He has since been neutered, brought up to date on vaccinations and put on heart-worm and flea/tick preventative. He is also micro-chipped.
Bear gets along fine with his foster sibling; an older male corgi but is a bit too much for him. He loves to play ball and just generally run around. Bear is constant motion and a real lover too. He is in need of some manners such as learning to "sit" and to walk properly on a leash without pulling. He did have some "accidents" in his new foster home at first but that can be expected with such a change in environment and being around another male. He has improved in that area. He is crate trained also. Bear has been around children but would probably be a bit too exuberant for children under the age of 8. We do not know how he does with cats or larger dogs.
Bear needs a family that will be active with him; take him places, on long walks or hikes, lots of play time and keep him socialized. He should NOT be crated for long period of time as pinned up energy can cause problems. He has a couple of little quirks. He likes to carry around shoes that are left unattended. He hasn't chewed up any but there's always time! The other little habit he has is if he finds a corner or snag in flooring he will take it further. He's only done this in front of his foster mom and has done quite well when left home alone. Preference will be given to homes with a fenced yard.
His adoption fee is $300 and application for him can be made through the link on our website at the very bottom of the "Adoption" page.
