Maximus – ADOPTED!

Meet Maximus.  He was surrendered to the town vet (which is also the town animal control) because he didn't like their horses.  Being a small town, his time was very limited.  Luckily, a rescue volunteer pulled him & contacted CCK.  One look at his face & he was in.  Maximus is bigger than your 'regular' corgi frame.  He's longer and taller than normal & therefore is a little heavier; currently 42.2 lbs but needs to gain a few more to fill out completely.  With his gladiator size comes very strong legs.

Maximus needs a family that will work with him on his manners, ESPECIALLY recall.  He needs a very secure fence (he can crawl under a chain-link if it is not buried).  He seems to have some resource guarding issues with his corgi foster brother who is smaller than him.  He also plays a little rough, so we are thinking he might do better as an only dog or maybe with bigger dogs.  He's getting used to the belly rubs but just wants to run around & play with squeaky toys.

Maximus is up to date on all shots, neutered, micro-chipped, heart worm negative & on preventative.  He's ready to find that special home.  His adoption fee will be $275.
