Rosey

rosey 12-13-13b

Corgi Connection of Kansas was contacted by Rosey's owners who had moved and couldn't take her. We learned that Rosey had been an outside dog all her life in a kenneled area in SW Kansas. She had a litter of mix-breed puppies that found homes and had been sharing her space with an older mixed-breed small dog. (That dog was taken by another rescue.)

Rosey came to CCK like any typical outside dog - filthy and lacking some manners. What Rosey does have is a very sweet personality with people. She loves to be petted, cuddled and just sit near by her person. rosey 12-13-13For this reason Rosey would probably do best as an only pet but she would probably tolerate a mild-mannered male dog. She tends to be a bit judgemental about other dogs. She is being fostered right now with a female aussie; however the 2 are not left alone. They do run and play when outside.

Having lived outside all her life Rosey is still learning the ways of being a housepet. She does NOT tolerate being crated. She does ok being gated off in a room such as the kitchen. Rosey is still learning about house-training also. She does pretty good if someone is around to let her out regularly but if left alone for very long she tends to have accidents.

Corgi Connection is looking for a home for Rosey that can provide her patience, training and lots of attention while she transitions to being a housepet. She needs a home where someone is around more often than not.

Rosey is about 5 years old. She has been spayed, vaccinated, heartworm tested and is on preventative. She is also micro-chipped. Her adoption fee is $275 to help offset the costs of her veterinary and foster care.
