This dog has it all - Looks AND Personality!!!

Sitka is just about the perfect dog. He is so sweet: loves to be with a person, to cuddle and get pets. He is not bothered by most dogs, unless they say something first (he's in a foster home with 3 other corgis)! He either doesn't know what a cat is or just plain doesn't care.

There is something so special and gentle about Sitka. He is really easy-going. He was surrendered to us because his owner was not able to afford caring for him and her other animals. We have no previous medical records on him but since joining CCK, Sitka has been neutered, vaccinated, had bloodwork done (all is good), heartworm tested (negative) and had his teeth cleaned. He is also micro-chipped. Because he had no previous records, we are not entirely sure of his age, but were told he was "around 7." It's hard to say because Sitka doesn't necessarily act his age. He likes to play and rough-house with other dogs, play with toys and take short walks. The walks are pretty short these days due to the heat and his beautiful coat.

We think Sitka is a mix of Cardigan Corgi and Aussie. His coat is long and will need attention every few days to keep it from getting out of control. He can be trimmed, but should NOT be shaved in any manner. Sitka weighed 39 pounds at his last veterinarian appointment, so he is a big, long boy. 

While Sitka is fine with children, we think the best place for him would be in a home with no young children (<10); a nice fenced area, although he has good recall and with people who can give him the attention he craves. If there is another dog in the household, it's probably best, it's Sitka's size or a bit bigger, because he doesn't always realize his size.
