ADOPTED!!!!!!

UPDATE on Teej: He has made such tremendous progress over the past month or so. He loves his people, is much more trusting and does quite well around other dogs now. While he is still uncertain of change, he is much more confident than he used to be and a lot more social. We feel he would be fine with another dog, who perhaps would help build his confidence. He's really just a big scaredy cat and once you figure that out, you will be best buds with Teej.

Teej's one requirement is regular sessions of fetch. He would prefer at least 2-3 times daily. He also enjoys a walk but new things do tend to make him cautious. He's really turned out to be a terrific dog that is bound to continue to improve with the right owners.

Teej's owners put him on Craig's list to give away for free so Corgi Connection of Kansas contacted them and they were more than happy to have us take him. Turns out Teej is about 3 years old and in all likelihood spent those first 3 years gated off in a kitchen, locked in the bathroom or put out on a very small patio with a fence around it which was his yard. We don't think he had ever been taken on a walk and handling him such as picking him up gave him instant anxiety, fear and sometimes even a nip at the person trying to handle him.

Teej is uncertain how to react to people. It takes a lot of time for him to trust someone. He lacks confidence, socializing and manners. But there is the potential for a very loving dog to come around with the right person. Teej has a high energy level and needs a job. He's a corgi-heeler mix for goodness sakes! He would be a great candidate for something such as agililty, flyball or perhaps even frisbee. Even with his energy level, Teej is good in the house. He crates well, seems to be well house-trained and LOVES to go for rides.

Corgi Connection is looking for someone who is willing to work with Teej and not back down when he tries to run the show. We are looking for someone who can engage him in all kinds of activities. Teej has been neutered, vaccinated, is micro-chipped and on heart-worm and flea/tick preventative. He is a healthy boy who deserves a second chance. His adoption fee is $275 which will help pay for his veterinary bills and care.
