Misty May

ADOPTED!!!!

1-20-15: ADOPTION PENDING: Misty May had her surgery and is on the mend. She actually had 2 tumors removed and the 1 we were more concered about came back with benign test results!!!! The larger of the 2 tumors weighed 1.5 pounds!!! No wonder the poor girl wasn't losing any weight.

We are excited for her future as her new mom not only has previous corgi experience but also experience with fatty tumors on dogs!

11-20-14: Misty May is down to 35 pounds (from 40+) She still has a little ways to go before she'll have surgery, but she's doing well!

10-29-14: Update on Misty May - First of all let me tell you this girl is a HOOT! Personality plus! Doesn't know a stranger, never been anywhere she's afraid of and doesn't have any problem telling you when she wants more of anything!

Our local veterinarian examined Misty and is confident the tumor is a "fatty" tumor. However,  she has recommended Misty trim down a bit before going through the rigors of surgery. So her  foster mom, Gisela, has her on a strict diet with lots of exercise. Misty loves the walks but is not  too fond of the restricted diet. Once she has finished her meal she licks the bowl and then flips  it over! No worries, Misty is getting a fair share of vegetables.

The goal is to get Misty down 8 pounds by the end of November and then have the tumor  removed. As for her eyes, we do not believe they are cataracts but just some hazing. She does  not seem to have any impaired vision.

We think she is 6-8 years old but she acts like a teenager! She was picked up as a stray and  taken to a facility in Columbia,  MO. She has some health issues that Corgi Connection of Kansas is going to try and treat.

She has a mass on her shoulder which seems to be shrinking; she has a large lipoma on her back end.  Lipoma are simply fatty tumors  and can  be removed. The good news is she is heart-worm negative and is  spayed.

The other good news about her is we are told she has the BEST personality. Doesn't seem to know a  stranger; appears to be house-broke and  loves to her her belly scratched! She does fine with other dogs as  well.

Please consider giving this girl the home she deserves once we have her healthy again! Her adoption fee is  $275.
